When Ya Need Something, Ya Make It

My bout of dehydration, need of a new belt, and love for brown and blue brought about this nice paracord belt. Earlier in the week I had received an order of blue, black, and brown paracord I got for wrapping knife handles. That day I got dehydrated due to the AC not working in my room, and I was too busy working on a leather pouch to notice how hot it was or how thirsty I was at the moment. This left me weak for the rest of the day and tomorrow, which means no making knives. It wasn't going to be too bad. I at least finished the leather pouch I was working on. But instead of giving myself some peaceful rest and recovery like I should have, I kept my hands at work by making a paracord belt. It wasn't just to keep me busy, I NEEDED a new belt! My usual leather belt I wear is my work belt too, and all the sweaty forge work completely ruined the leather. So I went ahead and learned the simple yet lengthy process of making a paracord belt, and got to work! It took 12 hours and over 400 knots, but being fueled by tons of coconut water and an audiobook, I worked carefully to make it as nice as possible. It truly is nice to be able to create what you need with some materials, a little time, and a little creativity, which is why I love being a craftsman. The resulting belt is 100 feet of paracord that looks awesome and can be used in many survival situations if need be. I wear it every day for all but forge work, which I instead wear that old nasty leather belt that looks worn but does its job! If this belt ever wears down I'll replace it with another well woven 100 feet of survival goodness.
