My first Japanese skiving knife, a leather working tool that is used for skiving and cutting leather with ease and precision. It is a W-2 tool steel blade with a walnut handle and brass handle pins. It is sharp enough to shave hair, and tough enough to cut into wood without losing sharpness. It was a great experience making this knife, as it was my first chisel edged blade ever! I had trouble sharpening it at first, but now it's slicing through leather and even the wood under it. Now my favorite tool for leatherwork.
